So what is the dream?

The dream is the illusion created and sustained by the ego. It is our false sense of reality. It is everything most people embrace as the truth.

Most of our everyday thoughts are ego driven. So, when you reflect upon your thoughts, you will eventually find the ego.

Take one day and note all the associations you make, all the opinions that come to your mind, all the needs, fears, desires, and expectations that you have. Note all the time you spend in the future or the past.

In doing this experiment and observing the ego, you will begin to see how most of our realities are spent within the mind. This is the dream. Totally unaware of exactly what is happening all around us.

1.) The ego is who we think we are. The ego latches onto roles, labels, appearances and possessions and then makes value judgments.

2.) The ego establishes what we value; in ourselves and in others. Things of value might include appearance and material possessions.

3.) The ego is that part of us that separates us from one another. It is that false sense of “I” that says, “you are separate from me. I am Christian, you are Muslim and we are both separate from God.”
