A world of diversions

How did we get to the point of having to be constantly entertained? Do we really need constant stimuli? Can we function without our distractions?

This world is full of diversions. Some are acquired from our upbringing, and social environment. Some are sought out to hide pain and anger.

We are in the belief that we are “things.” We are appearances, roles and a collection of possessions. Therefore, we believe that we need things. We need more to be more than what we are right now. We are trained to think this way.

Observe all these diversions. They all keep you within yourself. That is, they keep you trapped within the thinking mind. If you are in your mind, you are in the dream. The dream of evaluating objects, moments and needs.

To evaluate implies that there must be a good and bad. In this polarity, there can never be lasting peace.

Still your mind and you find that in the present moment there is “no wanting” or more specifically, lasting peace.
